Nigeria's Super Eagles and Rangers of Scotland defender Calvin Bassey is already targeting a good outing with the team in the upcoming 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, BSNsports.com.ng understand.
Bassey has been a big revelation for his Scottish club this season with his amazing performance both in the league and the Europa League games.
He made his debut for Nigeria in the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier against the Black Stars of Ghana.
The prolific defender was in action in the international friendly against Mexico and assisted Cyril Dessers in the Nigeria's only goal in the game.
While speaking to Brila FM, Bassey said they are hoping to start the qualifier on a good note.
" We are excited about the next phase, hopefully we can start the AFCON qualifier on a good note and get a win in both games," he said.
Super Eagles will face Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in the opening group game of the qualifier.
