2023 AFCON Qualifiers: CAF Hail Super Eagles Over Historic 10-0 Win

Encomiums continue to shower on the Super Eagles of Nigeria following their historic 0-10 win over Sao Tome and Principe, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

The 3-time African champions stole the headlines in World football after they spanked Sao Tome by a huge margin with Napoli's forward Victor Osimhen scoring 4 goals.

African soccer ruling body through its website hailed the Super Eagles over the feat.

"The opening two match days of the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers concluded on Monday, with Nigeria’s 10-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe being among the hottest topics as the road to Côte d’Ivoire set up in high gear.

“The Super Eagles of Nigeria broke a record of the biggest win in qualification matches, a feat that dates back to 1959 when they beat the Dahomey team, currently, Bénin 10-1," CAF said.

Nigeria will face Guinea Bissau in their 3rd Group A match as they continue their quest to secure their place in the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Coted'Ivoire next year.
