2023 Afrobasket: Otis Hughley Breaks Silence, Says Kida Is A Liar

Former D'Tigress head coach, Otis Hughley has said that the president of Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Eng Musa Kida is a liar for saying that he resigned from his position as coach of Nigeria Women's basketball national team, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Otis in an exclusive interview with www.bsnsports.com.ng on Wednesday warned Kida to stop using his name to score political points by telling the world that he resigned. He added that, no one from the federation contacted him on the issue of termination or continuation as the coach but was shocked to read in the newspaper quoting Musa Kida that he resigned.

"I didn't resign from being the head coach of D'Tigress. Kida is a liar and should stop using my name to score political points.

 "It was not the Sports Ministry that chose to go in that direction with selection of coach, Kida did. He selected the coach because he didn't want to enter into a contract with me. Enough is enough, Mr President, please, stop lying.

"No one, including Kida, talked to me about whether I will continue or resign as the coach. They just chose who they like to become the coach and I don't have any problem with that but should stop lying against me." He concluded.

Otis Hughley Jr. is an American basketball coach and is the current head coach of the Alabama A&M Bulldogs men's basketball team. He previously served as the head coach of the Nigerian national team, where he guided the team to two AfroBasket Women championships and the 2020 Summer Olympics.

D'Tigress have arrived in Kigali and will face DR Congo on Friday in 2023 FIBA Afrobasket Championship opener.
