2023 All African Games: Team Nigeria Hockey Secure Qualification

The African Hockey Federation has handed the Nigeria Hockey national team a passage to participate in the 2023 All African Games hosted by Ghana, BSNsports.com.ng understands.

Three West African teams including Nigeria, Ghana and Sierra Leone are billed to participate in the qualifier which is slated to hold in Abuja, Nigeria between August 25th to 30th.

Two out of the three teams, will secure qualification to the competition finals.

Team Sierra Leone filed their withdrawal letter on the eve of the qualifier which led to the automatic cancellation of the qualifier.

In the early hours of Thursday, the Hockey governing announced the cancellation of the qualifier and handed both Team Nigeria and Team Ghana an automatic ticket to participate in the African Games.
