2023 CAF Women Champions League: Morocco Withdraw Bid, Supports Cote d' Ivoire

The President of the Royal Morocco Football Federation Fouzi Lekja has announced their withdrawal from hosting this year's CAF Women Champions League, and have decided to back Ivory Coast, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The North African country alongside Ivory Coast is bidding to stage the third edition of the competition.

But Fouzi Lekja on Thursday afternoon announced the country's withdrawal and made it clear that they backing Ivory Coast to stage the annual event.

Ivory Coast is hoping to use the competition to test-run its facilities for the upcoming 2023 African Cup of Nations.

The qualifier for the WAFU B qualifier will be held in Lagos, Nigeria.
