2023 CHAN Qualifier: Black Galaxies Suffer Defeat Against Qatar

The preparation of Ghana's Black Galaxies for the 2023 Championship of African Nations qualifiers suffered a setback as they lost 2-1 to Qatar, BSNsports.com.ng has gathered.

The Ghanaian side have been on foreign tour of Austria ahead of the clash against Nigeria's Super Eagles B team.

Ghana were down two goals down under 30 minutes at the Wiener Neustadt Stadium in Austria as the 2022 FIFA World Cup hosts took the lead in the 2nd and 26 minutes of the game.

After the break, the Black Galaxies reduced the deficit in the 68th minute through Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie.

The coach of the team Annor Walker was disappointed about the result, saying his players respected their opponent too much.

"My players showed too much respect to the Qataris as they thought they were the senior side and they are also hosting the World Cup, so they gave them respect," he said.
