2023 CHAN Qualifier: Remo Stars Goalkeeper Replaces Rivers United's Sochima

The goalkeeping department of the Super Eagles B team suffered a setback on Monday as Victor Sochima was ruled out of the qualifiers, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

The team coach Salisu Yusuf opened the team camp last week and all the invited players have been in Abuja getting ready for the clash against the Black Galaxies of Ghana.

According to the report coming from the team camp, Rivers United goalkeeper Sochima sustained an injury and has been ruled out of the game.

Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole has been called up to take his position.

The young goaltender was one of the outstanding goalkeepers of the season as he played an active role in the 'Sky Blue Boys' securing a ticket for the CAF Confederation Cup.

The first leg against Ghana will take on the 28th of August while the second leg is slated for the MKO Stadium in Abuja a week later.
