After weeks of turmoil, Nigeria Basketball returned to the international scene and it was a day to forget for the men's team D'Tigers as they suffered defeat in Rwanda, BSNsports.com.ng reports.
The team on Friday morning played their opening game in 3rd window of the 2023 FIBA world Cup qualifier and lost to Cape Verde.
D'Tigers put up a spirited performance and claimed the 1st quarter by 15-14, Cape Verde came back stronger in the 2nd quarter and won 11-25.
Nigeria emerged victorious in the 3rd quarter with a 21-17 points while Cape Verde rallied back in the final quarter and won the game 70-79.
D'Tigers will have another opportunity to redeem themselves when they face Mali in their second game on Saturday.
