2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifier: D'Tigers, Mali Clash Doubtful

D'Tigers' second group game in the ongoing Third window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifier remained doubtful following what happened on matchday Day One between Uganda and Mali, BSNsports.com.ng report


The Nigeria side lost narrowly to Cape Verde 70-79 in the opening group game played on Friday at the BK Arena.


Mali were supposed to play against Uganda on the same day but Malian players refused to leave their hotel after the nation Basketball federation failed to settle the debt of their allowances and bonuses.


The organiser had given the Malians extra 15th minute to arrive for the game but it was to no avail and Uganda were awarded a walkover of 20 points.


The Malian players are threatening not to show up again for the second game against Nigeria's D'Tigers slated for Saturday (today).
