Nigeria's men basketball team D'Tigers bounced back strongly in the quest to secure their passage into the 2023 FIBA World cup, BSNsports.com.ng reports

The team lost their opening group game of the 4th window to the host Ivory Coast on Friday which provided a setback for the team.

They faced Guinea on Saturday and proved too must for their West African neighbours.

D'Tigers dominated the game right from the 1st quarter and secured a 24-15 win.

The Guinean team fought hard in the second quarter but the trio of Amanze Egekeze, Josh Okogie and Chimezie Metu stood strong for D'Tigers and ensured a 44-35 win by halftime.

D'Tigers struggled in the early part of the 3rd quarter and allowed Guineans to reduce the gap to 4 points.

Uche Iroegbu was the main man for Nigeria in the 4th quarter with his 3 pointers and it played a key role in D'Tigers winning 76-50.

Despite the threat from Guinea, D'Tigers was able to see the game through and claimed 89-70 victory.

Egekeze was the highest scorer for Nigeria with 14 points, Metu 12, Iroegbu 11 and Okogie 10 points, they Angola on Sunday.
