2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifier: Senegal Approaches FIBA To Stage February Window

According to the report, Senegal Basketball Federation has written to FIBA requesting to stage the 5th window of qualifying for the 2023 World Cup, BSNsports.com.ng has gathered.

The President of the Federation Me Babacar Ndiaye during an interview on Thursday said they have sent a letter to FIBA in that regard.

“We want to organize, we want it. The Minister (Matar Ba) also gave his agreement in principle. 

"But I learnt that Egypt wants just like any other country. But in any case, we had made the distribution in a global way that Egypt was going to organize in July, Tunisia in August and Senegal in February 2023. 

"The organization of the February window in Senegal is not yet official. 

"But I wrote to FIBA ​​yesterday and It's a letter I sent to FIBA ​​to say that I would like to organize the February window. 

" I also told them that the principle of organizing the February window in Dakar was accepted and I am hopeful but the decision does not come from me," he said.

Cote d'Ivoire hosted the 4th window of the qualifier in August 2022.
