By Gbenga Gboyega
Following the safe arrival of the Super Falcons team and crew in Brisbane, after a successful camping exercise in Gold Coast, the Nigeria Women's team held its first training session on the Lions Football Club Pitch with their sights set on Friday's opener against Canada Women's team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Super Falcons were received in a warm embrace by the host nation from touchdown, as the team lodged at the Sofitel Luxurious Hotel and settled nicely to embark on a 12-day camping exercise before the FIFA Women's World Cup tournament begins in Australia on Thursday.
The hospitality continued in Brisbane as a few players were engaged in dancing lessons, learning the Aboriginal dance steps to ease the circulatory system, before heading to the Lions FC Pitch for their training session.
All hands were captured on deck in training as there was no news of recent injuries to worry about, with the likes of Ifeoma Onumonu, Asisat Oshoala, Tony Payne, and a host of others engaged in tracks, stretches, and drills.
Nigeria will face Canada on Friday 21st of July 2023 by the early hours of 3:30 am at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.
