2023 U17 AFCON: Nigeria Group Opponents, Morocco Arrives, Set For Eaglets, Others

Golden Eaglets group B opponents, Morocco on Friday arrived in Algeria, the venue of 2023 CAF U17 African Nations Cup, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

There have been fear that Morocco who withdrew from participating in the 2023 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in January hosted by Algeria due to political difference between Algeria and Morocco would also withdraw from the CAF age-grade competition but their arrival on Friday put an end to the speculation.

Unlike in January during the 2023 CHAN where the Moroccan federation refused other alternative of arriving at the venue, this time the Royal Moroccan Football Federation chartered a plane from the Star East charter company from Romania to fly the team from Rabat to Constantine in Algeria where Morocco group matches will hold.

Morocco, who are placed in the same group alongside Nigeria, Zambia and South Africa in group B arrived in Algeria on Thursday afternoon and quickly settled down as the competition begins the following day.

The 2023 U17 African Nations Cup kicks off today (Saturday) 29th April, 2023 as hosts, Algeria take on Somalia at 8:00 pm in the competition opener. And on Sunday Senegal will lock horns with Congo at 2pm before Nigeria entertain Zambia at 5pm.
