The participating teams of the 2023 Women Afrobasket championship have all arrived in Kigali and had also intensified their readiness for the competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The preparation of the opponents of Nigeria's D'Tigress, DR Congo suffered a setback on Wednesday afternoon as they suffered a huge defeat to Senegal.

DR Congo arrived in Kigali earlier in the week and have been working hard to have a good outing in the championship.

The Congolese faced Senegal where Aya Traore and her teammates beat the Congolese 71-53.

Senegal were already leading the score at halftime 33-23 despite the tight duel in the first quarter that they lost 10-11.

The Lionesses took over and dominated the game in the 3rd quarter to earn 63-38.

D'Tigress who is the current champion of the championship will face DR Congo in the opening game on Friday at the BK Arena.
