2023 Women Afrobasket: Senegal Captain Points Accusing Finger To Team Coach

Following their final defeat to Nigeria's D'Tigress, the captain of the Senegalese team Cierra Janay Dillard has pointed an accusing finger at the team's coach Moustpha Gaye for their defeat, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Despite working hard in the final match played at the BK Arena in Kigali, Senegal found it hard to break down the well-organised Nigeria side and lost 84-74.

The player said the coach abandoned them at the centre of the action.

"The difference between the teams in a championship is the head coach.

 "This is the first time that I have seen a head coach give up and let go of his team at half-time of a match", she said.

D'Tigress has won the last four editions of the Women's Afro basketball championship beating Senegal on those occasions.
