2023 Women's Afrobasket: D'Tigress Star Emerges MVP

Following her stellar performance in the just concluded 2023 FIBA Afrobasket competition, Nigeria's D'Tigress star Amy Okonkwo has been adjudged as the championship Most Valuable Player, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

D'Tigress did unimaginable on Saturday at the BK Arena by beating Senegal 84-74 in the final of the 2023 Women's Afrobasketball championship in Kigali, Rwanda.

Okonkwo was impressive right from the first game against DR Congo carrying the entire team on her shoulder.

Apart from the games, she also produced a leadership quality both on and off the court and ensured that the team stay focused until the end of the game.

The organiser adjudged her as tournament MVP at the end of the final against Senegal. Nigeria has now won the FIBA Afrobasket championship on four consecutive times from 2017, 2019, 2021 and now 2023 to equal Senegal's feat.
