2023 Women's World Cup: Big Blow! Zambia's First Goalkeeper Ruled Out
By Sampson Adedeji
The preparation of the 2023 FIFA World Cup debutant Shepolopolo of Zambia suffered a big blow on Wednesday afternoon as their first-choice goalkeeper Hazel Nali is ruled out of the competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Zambia qualified for the World Cup for the first after they finished 3rd in the 2022 Women's African Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Nali has been an integral part of the team and he was outstanding last week when Zambia defeated Germany 2-3 in one of the warm-up games.
She was confirmed to have a tear in the medial collateral ligament and has been ruled out of the tournament.
Zambia are placed in Group C alongside Japan, Spain and Costa Rica.
