Despite losing out to England Three Lionesses, the head coach of Nigeria's Super Falcons Randy Waldrum has hailed his players, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Falcons proved they were no pushover with their impressive display which drew applause from football fans across the world.

The European champions have to rely on a penalty shoot-out to edge Nigeria from the competition.

While speaking after the game, the American gaffer made it clear that the players had the opportunity to win the game but still praised the players for their gallant display.

“I’m so proud of them, to come in and play like we did. We had every opportunity to get it done. Unfortunately, we couldn’t quite get it done.

“We had the best chances, we hit the crossbar twice. When it gets to penalties, it’s anyone’s game", he told FIFA media.
