Moroccan trio of Bouchra Karboubi, Fatiha Jermoumi, and Soukaina Hamdi have been selected by FIFA for the Group E clash between the United States Women's national team and Vietnam on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

All three officials are well-established in the game and have been accredited by the World football governing body, which made them available for selection for the Mundial in Australia and New Zealand.

In the latest publication by FIFA, the officials were picked for the Group E clash on Saturday at Eden Park Stadium in New Zealand with Bouchra Karboubi as Center Referee, while Fatiha Jermoumi and Soukaina Hamdi pose as assistants.

Bouchra's history is quite interesting, owing to her rise to the limelight as she had once determined to "show that I could succeed as both a referee and as a woman," according to a publication by French News outlet Le Monde in May 2022.

Last year, on the 14th of May 2022, the 36-years-old Bouchra Karboubi, born on the 15th of May 1987, became the first woman in Morocco and also the first Arab to referee a final of a men's professional competition, which was the Moroccan Throne Cup final between the Association Sportive des Forces Armées Royales (AS FAR) and Moghreb Atletico Tetouan.

As for Fatiha Jermoumi, 39-years-old, born on the 10th of January 1984, she has featured as an assistant referee at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations for Under 20s and in the 2022 FIFA World Cup for Under 17s.

Soukaina Hamdi was also selected for the game on Saturday as the two-time host nation USWNT seeks their 5th World Cup title campaign starting off against Vietnam.
