2023 Women's World Cup: Super Falcons Midfielder Thankful To Teammates

Super Falcons midfielder Deborah Abiodun has expressed gratitude to her teammates for gaining a valuable point despite her sending off, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Abiodun was sent in the opening group game against Canada for a dangerous foul on Ashleigh Williams.

While speaking on the game, the combative midfielder was disappointed about the marching order she got in the game but happy that the team rescued a point from the game.

" I felt disappointed and sad, I was scared because I didn't want to be the reason the team lost.

"I'm thankful to my teammates for fighting so hard and gaining a point despite being a man down", she said.

Abiodun will miss the second game against Australia due to her suspension.
