2024/2025 NNL Intensifies After Explosive Match Day Five Matches

After the completion of match day five matches in the ongoing 2024/2025 Nigeria National League, the favourites for the play-offs are beginning to emerge, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
In Southern Conference Group A, Abia Comets lead the log with 11 points after five matches.
The Umuahia-based side, who are unbeaten, secured a 2-1 away win over Ijele FC. They are followed by Warri Wolves on 9 points after five matches while the trio of Edel FC, 1472 FC and Igbajo United are in the relegation zone.
In Southern Conference Group B, high-flying Kun Khalifat FC has been on an impressive run since the start of the campaign.
The Pride of Owerri defeated Sporting Lagos 2-1 in Owerri to extend their unbeaten run to five matches having won four and drew one to maintain their lead on the log with 13 points.
Osun United, who are second-placed in Group B, have 10 points, while Solution FC are third with 7 points. Madiba FC and First Bank FC are languishing at the bottom with a point each.
Elsewhere, Wikki Tourists lead the log in the Northern Conference Group C with 10 points, closely followed by Mighty Jets with 8 points.
Zamfara United and Jigawa Golden Stars are at the bottom of the table.
Meanwhile, in the Northern Conference Group D, the race is tight as four points only separates the bottom team from the leaders.
The duo of Yobe Desert Stars and Sporting Supreme are on 7 points each while Basira FC and Doma United are on 6 points each.
