2024 OQT: I'm Proud Of My Players - D'Tigress Coach

Following the win over their counterpart from Senegal, D'Tigress head coach Rene Wakama has said she's proud of her players, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The African Champions on Thursday evening defeated Senegal 72-65 in the opening game of the 2024 Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Antwerp, Belgium.

The Nigerian side trailed in most parts of the game but came back strongly in the final quarter to record a win.

"I am so incredibly proud of my team and I have a special group. The game was not pretty, but they stuck together and they got it done. 

"It was beautiful as a coach to see them come together and fight back when things were not going their way.

"This game felt like a Final because we knew what was at stake. But we only just got past this first roadblock", she said.
