2024 Olympic Qualifier: D'Tigress Place 11th In The Volume Of Power Rankings

The FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2024 has been concluded and FIBA have released Volume 2 of the Smart Power Rankings the first showing only those nations off to Paris 2024, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria's D'Tigress booked the spot in the event after their victory over Senegal and suffering back-to-back defeats to the United States and Belgium counted for little.

Credit to Rene Wakama and her team which missed some of the stars that stepped out at Tokyo 2020 and despite the absence of players that are playing at a higher level in.their clubs, but the crop of players in Antwerp got the win they needed against Senegal. 

They were under a lot of pressure with some questioning if this D'Tigress lineup could get it done and avoid defeat.

According to the latest ranking, World Champions the United States placed first and the Nigerian side was placed in the 11th position above Puerto Rico.
