2024 T20 World Cup Qualifier: We Are Making Progress - Coach Tikolo

Ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup qualifier, the head coach of Nigeria's Cricket senior men's team Steve Tikolo has confirmed the readiness of the team to compete and qualify for the competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian side secured their place in the qualifier after they came top in the phase of the qualifier last year.

The Yellow Green has been in camp in Lagos training and preparing for the qualifier slated to take in November this year in Namibia.

While speaking to the PUNCH, the coach bemoaned the lack of high-quality warm-up game but believed they have what it takes to qualify.

"The progress is good in terms of our training but we have not had so many international matches. 

We were supposed to go to Kenya but it didn’t happen due to logistics and we were in camp for the African Cup in South Africa, which has been cancelled too.

“So, we just have to play practice matches against some good opposition, which we are trying to plan, now that the African Cup has been cancelled. 

We have to either bring in teams here to play us or we travel to play against some other countries,” Tikolo said.
