2024 Paralympics: Para-powerlifting Federation Concludes Two-day National Trials In Lagos By Niyi Busari The Nigeria Para-powerlifting Federation has concluded a two-day Paralympics pathway qualification held in Lagos. The national trials which was participated by all para-powerlifters in the country started on Wednesday ended Thursday. The event which aimed at selecting the best in different weight categories to represent Nigeria in the 2024 Paralympics pathway qualification saw the best qualified in the qualifiers for the 2024 Paralympics in France. In the 65kg male category, Kure Martins and Rasaq Muftau finished 1st and 2nd respectively while Emmanuel Ugwu and Olaniyan Hammed finished 1st and second in the 59kg male category. In the 55kg female category, Solomon Seun Idowu and Osewa Oluwatoyosi finishes 1st and 2nd. Adesokan Yakubu claimed the first position in Men's 49kg with best lift of 154kg while Abimbola Osaro in Male 54kg lifted 160kg to claim first position. In the same vein, Nwogu Esther and Tijani Latifat came first in Female 41kg and 45kg with best lifts of 101kg and 105kg respectively.
