2025 AFCON Qualifier: Benin Piles Pressure On Nigeria, Wallops Rwanda

The Cheetahs of Benin have continued to pile pressure on the Super Eagles of Nigeria with a comprehensive victory over the Amavubi of Rwanda, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Beninoise, under coach Gernot Rohr, seems to have recovered after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Nigeria on Match Day One. Playing in Ivory Coast on Friday evening, the Cheetahs proved too much for the Rwandans, as they secured a 3-0 win.

It was Stevie Mounie who opened the floodgates of goals in the 7th minute before Houtondji made it 2-0 in the 67th minute.

Imouraine made the game safe for the Cheetahs in the 70th minute and ended the 3-0. 

The victory puts Benin on 6 points, one point adrift of Nigeria in the group.
