2025 AFCON Qualifier: Dele-Bashiru's Stunner Earns Super Eagles Maximum Points

Lazio of Italy midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru was the hero on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, as his lone strike secured Super Eagles a full points against Libya, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Hosting the North Africans on day 3 of the African Cup of Nations qualifier, the Super Eagles found it difficult to break the well-organized backline of Libyans.

Despite being on the front foot since the start of the game, the first half ended in a scoreless affair.

The second half resumed with the Libyans continuing to lay back, hoping to get the Nigerians on the counterattack.

Just as the Libyans were thinking of getting a draw, substitute Dele-Bashiru pumped up the volume to score a stunner and earned Nigeria the maximum points.

With the victory, the Super Eagles have garnered 7 points from 3 games.
