2025 AFCON Qualifier: Eguavoen Explains Reasons For Arokodare, Maja, Dessers Omission

The interim coach of the Super Eagles, Austin Eguavoen, has finally opened up on the omission of the in-form trio of Tolulope Arokodare, Cyril Dessers and Josh Maja, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Apart from the duo of Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, the trio are the most informed players the country can boast of at the moment.

And their omission has generated a lot of debate among the fans and supporters of the team.

While speaking on Eagles FM Radio, Eguavoen said the time factor was the main reason he could not invite new players into the team.

 " I have to stick with the players I know, it will be difficult to invite the players I have not worked with previously because of the short time to prepare for these matches".

 " We had only 3 to 4 days for these matches, so the time is not there to look at new players".

" Time is my biggest challenge because the calendar is choked". " I want to improve our large pool of players so that we could have capable replacements".

" We should be patient when we have friendlies, we will try to bring some new players and work with them", he said.
