2025 AFCON Qualifier: Ghana Black Stars Return To Accra
Sampson Adedeji
After failing to secure a venue outside Ghana, the Confederation of African Football has given the Black Stars the nod to hold their next African Cup of Nations qualifier in Accra, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The African football ruling body in September withdrew the approval of Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi for failing to meet the required standard.
The Ghana Football Association reached out to Togo Football Federation to have their home game in Lome but the discussion broke down.
After much deliberation and discussion, CAF has finally allowed Ghana to host its home matches at the Accra Sports Stadium.
CAF added that it will continue to closely monitor the readiness of the stadium for this match, as well as for future CAF-sanctioned events.
