2025 AFCON Qualifier: Injury Rocks Benin Camp

Ahead of the crucial game against Nigeria, injury is currently rocking the camp of the Cheetahs of Benin in Ivory Coast, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The latest update from the team's camp in Abidjan stated that the Cheetahs reliable centre back Mohammed Tijani has an ankle sprain. Tijani played a key role in the team overcoming Super Eagles in June in the 2026 World Cup qualifier. " We are little worried about his participation in Nigeria. " But may be for the second game against Libya, we are working so that he recover quickly from his sprained ankle", the team coach Gernot Rohr said. The team medical department are working round the clock to have the defender available for Nigeria or Libya game. The Cheetah are expected to arrive in Nigeria on Thursday for the Saturday's game.
