2025 AFCON Qualifier: Super Eagles Wallop Benin In Uyo

Àdemola Lookman and Victor Osimhen were the heroes on Saturday in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Cheetahs of Benin in Uyo, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Playing in front of a vociferous crowd , the Super Eagles expectedly dominated the game and their efforts paid off in the 46th as Lookman netted the opening goal The Beninoise produced a better performance in the second half but they were unable to breach the backline of the Super Eagles led by William Troost Ekong. The coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles made the game safe for Nigeria with his timely substitutions of the quartet Olisah Ndah, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Moses Simon and Victor Osimhen. It was the newly acquired Galatasaray forward who doubled Nigeria's lead midway into the second half before Lookman completed his brace and made it a comprehensive 3-0 win for the Super Eagles.
