2025 AFCONQ: Eguavoen Optimistic Of Positive Results Against Benin, Rwanda

By Sampson Adedeji

Super Eagles interim coach, Austin Eguavoen, has remained optimistic ahead of the crucial 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The three-time African champions will face the Cheetahs of Benin and Amavubi of Rwanda in the matchday 1 and 2 of the 2025 African Nations Cup qualifier.

The former defender has insisted that the team is capable of getting 6 points from both games.

" I am very confident that we will scale through the two games and beyond. We have the materials, we have the players and personnel, we have the support, we have everything.

" The other thing we have to remind the players about is that they were almost African champions months ago. It is not even a year yet. What went wrong.

" They are the ones to turn the table around, it is not bad. I have spoken to them; we are still going to have a few meetings before the game proper", he told the team media.
