The stage is set for the 2025 AMAPRO Football Championship, which will officially kick off on Monday, July 7, 2025, in Ilorin, Kwara State. The announcement was made by Shogo Shodunnke, President of the AMAPRO African Development Programme.

This year’s edition promises innovation and elevated standards, as the tournament introduces a groundbreaking partnership with EyeBall—a technology firm specializing in performance analytics. The collaboration aims to bring advanced match statistics and player insights to the grassroots tournament.

“We are adding new layers to what AMAPRO has been known for,” Shodunnke said in the official release. “With EyeBall’s support, we’re enhancing transparency and working to bridge the gap between amateur and professional football. Young players will gain critical visibility, and scouts and coaches will have access to comprehensive data for assessment and recruitment.”

The tournament will retain its traditional 16-team format, welcoming both returning sides and new entrants from across the country.

To streamline operations and elevate event standards, the organizers have unveiled a newly structured leadership team:

Abdulazeez Abdulkareem – Project Coordinator

Oladimeji Oladele – Head of Talent Identification and Player Pathways (FIFA Licensed Agent)

Ampitan Tope – Head of Safety, Logistics, and Protocol

Idowu Bakare – Head of International Business and Networking

Jide Oluwaseun – Event Manager

Damilola Alagbe – Head of Communication and Relations

Wale Mustapha – Head of Marketing and Promotion

Adeniyi Muyiwa – Head of Photography

Ndackson Musa Eric – Head of Audiovisuals

Mustapha Abdulrazaq – Assistant Head of Audiovisuals

The defending champions, Abraysports FC, will return to the competition after clinching the 2024 title in a thrilling final against the NPFL All Stars.

With strategic planning, professional coordination, and technological innovation in place, the 2025 AMAPRO Football Championship is poised to be a landmark event in Nigerian grassroots football.
