2025 Afrobasket Championship: D'Tigers Coach Shares Key Motivation Behind Team’s Success

Nigeria’s D’Tigers coach, Muhammad Abdulrahman, has shed light on the driving force behind the team’s impressive performance in Libya, as reported by BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The team secured qualification for the 2025 Afrobasket tournament with a dominant three-game winning streak against Libya, Uganda, and Cape Verde.

“It’s not magic,” Abdulrahman said.

“When you have over 200 million people back home praying, cheering, and rooting for you, there’s no excuse not to deliver.”

He emphasized the team’s determination, stating, “The thought of D’Tigers and the Nigerian flag not flying in Angola was extra motivation for us to step up and get the job done.”

Acknowledging the support from fans and sacrifices made by the players, he added, “We received a lot of support from home, and the players gave their all to be here. That shows just how much we wanted to make it to Angola.”
