2025 Ardova Handball Premier League Gets Commencement Date

The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has announced that the first phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2025 will be held in July 2025 in Edo State, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to a statement signed by the Secretary General of the Federation, Mrs Monica Otumala, the first phase of the top tier Handball Premier League will be held from the 7th to the 20th of July 2025, with the teams arriving on July 7 for the technical meeting while the matches will commence the next day.

 "This is to inform everyone that the first phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2025 will be held from July 7th to the 20th, 2025, in Benin City, Edo State", Mrs Otumala said.

 "All teams expected to arrive on the 7th of July for the all-important technical meeting where the rules guiding the premier league will be expatriated according to the rules of the International Handball Federation (IHF) and the Confederation of Africa Handball (CAHB)."

She also urged the participating teams to finish up their registration of players and preparation ahead of the Premier League.

The Ardova Handball Premier League, proudly sponsored by Ardova PLC, is the biggest Handball competition in the country and the top-tier handball league.

The league, in its 8th season, consists of 22 teams (12 male teams and 10 female teams) playing across two phases in round-robin matches in the male and female categories, respectively.

Tojemarine Handball Club and Safety Babes are the defending champions in the male and female categories, respectively, with Tojemarine hoping to defend their title for the first time in their history while Safety Babes will begin their campaign to win their 5th unprecedented consecutive title.
