The much-anticipated finale of the 2025 MTN NLO Cup is billed for Friday, showcasing a thrilling matchup between HB FC and JNR Danburan, at the Bwari Stadium in Abuja with 3pm as kickoff.

JNR Danburan enters the match with an impressive record, having finished unbeaten in Group Two with three consecutive wins, amassing a remarkable 12 goals while conceding just two. On the other hand, HB FC secured the top spot in Group One, racking up 7 points from two wins and a draw.

Mubarak Rabe of JNR Danburan has stood out as the tournament's leading scorer, netting an impressive 10 goals across three matches. His extraordinary performance includes five goals against Lapai FA in the opening match, one against Simoiben FC, and four against SI14 FC in the final group encounter.

Eight teams in the Nationwide League One, started the campaign for the opportunity to claim the esteemed MTN/NLO Cup, proudly sponsored by the telecommunications giant, MTN. The participating teams included Dante FC, Galadima FC, HB FC, JNR Danburan FC, Lapai FA, Likeminds FC, Simoiben FC, and SI14 FC.

Ahead of the final, Olushola Ogunnowo, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Africa's largest grassroots football league, shared insights with NLO Media Channel. He emphasized the success of the 2025 MTN NLO Cup, highlighting how both finalists emerged from their groups, demonstrating the competitive spirit of the league.

Olushola remarked, "The teams have exemplified what the NLO represents, showcasing an exciting style of play. This platform is crucial for nurturing emerging talents for our national teams at all levels. The final promises to be a thrilling encounter, given that both teams have collectively scored 18 goals. I wish both teams the best of luck, and I encourage them to embody the spirit of sportsmanship, accepting the outcome in good faith.

In the previous edition of the tournament, Tudun Wada FC showcased an outstanding performance, decisively defeating Palm Syrup 7-2 to clinch the title.
