2025 Olumide Oyedeji Intercollegiate 3x3 Basketball Championship Set For This Weekend

All is set for the finals of the 2025 Olumide Oyedeji Intercollegiate 3x3 Basketball Championship, which will take place on June 28–29 at the Dolphins Basketball Court, Onipetesi, Lagos. Eighteen teams from across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones will compete for honours, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

Originally scheduled to be held at the National Stadium in Lagos, the tournament was relocated to the Dolphins Court due to weather conditions.

Following weeks of zonal qualifiers involving over 100 institutions from all six geopolitical zones, the following universities have qualified for the finals: North West: Ahmadu Bello University and Bayero University, Kano.

North Central: Federal University of Technology, Minna; Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai; and College of Education, Minna.

North East: College for Legal Studies, Yola; Federal College of Education, Yola; and American University of Nigeria, Yola.

South West: Obafemi Awolowo University, Lead City University, and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.

South East: Caritas University, Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, and University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

South South: University of Benin, Ambrose Alli University, and Dennis Osadebay University.

Olumide Oyedeji, the founder of the Intercollegiate 3x3 Basketball Championship and a board member of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, has expressed confidence in the tournament's organization.

He emphasized the importance of fostering a 3x3 basketball culture in Nigeria and being part of the global revolution in the sport.
