2025 U-17 Women’s World Cup: Flamingos To Discover Group Opponents On Wednesday

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, will learn their group stage opponents for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on Wednesday, June 4, BSNSports.com.ng reports 

The official draw ceremony will be held in Rabat, the administrative capital of Morocco, which is also the host nation for this edition of the tournament.

This year’s competition marks a historic milestone, as it will feature 24 teams for the first time. It is the ninth edition of the tournament, which was inaugurated 17 years ago in New Zealand.

The draw will see teams divided into four pots:

Pot 1: Morocco (hosts), Spain, Japan, North Korea (defending champions), USA, and Nigeria (making their eighth appearance).

Pot 2: Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Canada, New Zealand, Ecuador.

Pot 3: China, Cameroon, South Korea, Italy, France, Zambia.

Pot 4: Paraguay, Costa Rica, Netherlands, Norway, Côte d’Ivoire, Samoa.

The Flamingos, placed in Pot 1 alongside some of the world’s top teams, will be looking to make a strong impression at the global showpiece.
