Following his outstanding performance for Udinese this season, goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is set to return to the Super Eagles fold, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The youngster decided to drop out of the team before the 2023 African Cup of Nations to face his club career.

His decision seems to have paid off as he has emerged as the first-choice goalkeeper for the Italian Serie A side.

The Nigerian goaltender made the headlines after single-handedly earned Udinese a win against champion Juventus.

According to a hint from the national team camp, Okoye is among the goalkeepers coach George Finidi has invited for the qualifiers against South Africa and the Benin Republic.
