2026 WAFCONQ: Super Falcons Midfielder Echegini Ruled Out

Nigeria and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Jennifer Echegini has been ruled out of the Super Falcons’ double-header against Benin Republic in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Echegini sustained a hamstring injury during PSG’s league game on Monday night, forcing her withdrawal from the national team squad.

The 24-year-old, who scored Nigeria’s decisive goal in the WAFCON final against hosts Morocco in Rabat earlier this year, will miss both legs of the final qualifying round Friday’s first leg at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé, and the return leg at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday.
