At least 10 countries have now officially qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

On Thursday, Jordan and Uzbekistan made history by securing their first-ever World Cup appearances, while South Korea booked their 11th consecutive spot at the global tournament.

Despite being held to a 0-0 draw by the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi, Uzbekistan claimed the second automatic qualification spot in Group A, finishing behind Iran with one game still to play.

These three teams joined Japan, New Zealand, Iran, and Argentina, who had already punched their tickets to the tournament.

Co-hosts USA, Canada, and Mexico are also confirmed participants, having qualified automatically as hosts.

In Asia, six teams have secured direct qualification. Meanwhile, UAE and Qatar, who finished third and fourth respectively in their group, will advance to the next stage of qualifiers.

In that next phase, six teams will battle it out for the final two Asian spots at the 2026 World Cup.
