Gabon national team coach, Thierry Mouyouma, has declared that his team is fully prepared to face Nigeria in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoffs, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Panthers will battle the Super Eagles in one of the playoff fixtures scheduled to hold in Morocco, with the winner set to face either DR Congo or Cameroon in the next round.

Nigeria secured their playoff berth after a commanding 4–0 victory over Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Gabon wrapped up their qualifying campaign with an impressive record eight wins, one draw, and one loss to finish with 25 points.

Nigeria, on the other hand, narrowly booked their place with 17 points, thanks to Frank Onyeka’s decisive late goal.

“To get 25 points and not qualify automatically is hard to take. But we are ready. It will be a great match to play against Nigeria and an excellent test ahead of the 2025 AFCON,” Mouyouma told Sporting News Africa.

The African playoffs featuring the four best second-placed teams are set to take place from November 13 to 16 in Morocco.
