2026 World Cup Qualifier: Again, Super Eagles Fail To Fly Against Zimbabwe

By Sampson Adedeji

The hope of Nigeria's Super Eagles being back to the winning ways was halted on Sunday after they played out a 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Playing at the Huye Stadium in Rwanda, the Nigerian side seems to be the better side but it was the Warriors that netted the opening goal in the 26th minute through Musona's well-taken freekick.

Despite dominating the game, the Super Eagles have no shot on target throughout the entire first stanza of the game.

The three-time African champions up their game in the second half and they were able to peg back the Zimbabweans.

Leicester City forward levelled up the game for Nigeria in the 67th minute after good footwork from Moses Simon.

The efforts of the Super Eagles to get the winning goal proved abortive as it ended 1-1.

Nigeria now has 2 points from 2 matches and will hope to change the story when they face South Africa in the match day 3 and 4.
