2026 World Cup Qualifier: CAF Rule Out VAR For November Games
Sampson Adedeji
Barely two weeks to the opening day of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the African soccer governing body has made questionable decisions about the games, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Two-round games will go down in less than 5 days across the continent and the Confederation of African Football has made some key decisions.
The football body on Wednesday morning announced that the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will not be available for games.
The reason for the decision was not disclosed but the video technology may likely be back for the remaining match days next year.
Nigeria is among the countries that will play in the qualifiers and will host the Crocodile of Lesotho in the opening game at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
