2026 World Cup Qualifier: CAF Ruled Out VAR Usage For November Games

Barely two weeks to the opening mqtch-day of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, African soccer governing body has made a questionable decisions about the games saying there won't be usage of VAR, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Two round games will go down in less down five days across the continent and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has made some key decisions.

The football body on Wednesday morning announced that Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will not be available for games.

The reason for the decision was not disclosed but the video technology may likely be back for the remaining match days next year.

Nigeria's Super Eagles are among the countries that will play in the qualifiers and will host the Crocodile of Lesotho in the opening game at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
