Cyriel Dessers is set to make his return back to the Super Eagles, as Augustine Eguavoen is ready to ring changes when the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier resumes in March 2025 with the game against Rwanda, BSNSports.com.ng has sourced.

The Rangers striker has made just six appearances for his country but now could be set to make his return to the setup after over two years away.

This comes after the Super Eagles suffered a “shock” 2-1 defeat against Rwanda on Monday (18 November) in their Africa Cup of Nations Qualification group.

Speaking after the loss, Nigeria boss Eguavoen said: “For this camp, I had to stick with the players I know. It would be difficult to play those I’ve not worked with previously because of the short time to prepare.

“When we have friendlies we will try to bring some new players like Cryriel Dessers and Chuba Akpom and work with them.”
