Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has revealed what Nigeria must do to keep their 2026 World Cup qualification hopes alive, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Speaking after leading Nigeria to a 2–1 away victory over Lesotho on Friday, the experienced defender stressed that the Super Eagles must not only defeat Benin in Uyo but do so emphatically.

“We want to be at the World Cup we’ve been saying that for the last nine months,” Troost-Ekong said.

“Now we have the opportunity in Uyo against the Benin Republic, and we know we have to score a certain number of goals. It was always clear that we needed to win and win convincingly.”

Benin currently sit three points ahead of Nigeria and two points above South Africa in the Group C standings, making the final game a must-win for the Super Eagles.
