2026 World Cup Qualifier: My Family Will Be Happy To See Me Represent Nigeria - Tella

Newly invited Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder Nathan Tella has said his family would be happy to see him fulfilling the dream of representing Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Bayer Leverkusen star was the only entrant into the Super Eagles team that would prosecute the doubleheader 2026 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

While speaking to BBC Sports Africa, Tella said he is proud of his Nigeria and British background.

"It’s always been about representing Nigeria,” Tella told BBC Sport Africa.

“My family will be over the moon to watch me fulfill that dream.

“I am proud of my British and Nigerian sides and lucky to have both backgrounds. Of course, we have both worlds, but ours is a proper Nigerian home [with] culture, food and tradition", he added.
