Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster says the pressure is on Nigeria ahead of Tuesday night’s crunch 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Free State Stadium, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Foster, who recently celebrated his birthday, is eyeing a perfect gift in the form of three points against the Super Eagles.

The Burnley forward believes South Africa are in a strong position, sitting top of Group C after seven matches.

“I don’t necessarily think there’s pressure on us. At the moment, we are where we want to be in the group and that’s a positive,” Foster said.

“The pressure is on the teams chasing us, but that doesn’t mean we can relax.”

Bafana Bafana head into the encounter full of confidence after their 3-0 victory over Lesotho on Friday, while Nigeria edged Rwanda 1-0 in Uyo a day later.

Foster stressed the importance of consistency as the team pushes closer to a World Cup ticket.

“We must keep the same mentality, stay humble, take each game as it comes, and keep our focus,” he added.

South Africa currently lead Group C with 16 points, while Nigeria sits third with 10.
