Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong has emphasized that the team’s primary objective is to make Nigeria proud in their crucial World Cup qualifier against Rwanda, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria will face the Amavubi of Rwanda in a decisive Matchday 5 encounter.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Amahoro Stadium on Thursday, the Al-Khalood defender acknowledged the constant pressure that comes with representing Nigeria.

"Playing for a big football nation like Nigeria comes with pressure and criticism—it's part of the game," Ekong stated.

"I've had discussions with the team, and we see the pressure as a privilege. Our focus is to make the fans proud," he added.

Currently, Nigeria sits fifth in the group with three points, while Rwanda leads the standings with seven points.
